Hello Kitty is a is a fictional character produced by the Japanese company Sanrio, created by Yuko Shimizu and currently designed by Yuko Yamaguchi. She is depicted as an anthropomorphic white Japanese Bobtail with a red bow. The character first appeared on a purse in Japan in 1975 and the Hello Kitty design was brought to the USA in 1976. By 2010, Sanrio had developed Hello Kitty into a global marketing phenomenon worth $5 billion a year and by 2014, when Hello Kitty was 40 years old, it was worth about $7 billion a year, all without any advertising. This just proves how popular Hello Kitty is and it is also quite common to have Hello Kitty themed parties decorated with Hello Kitty merchandise. In this post, we are going to show you how to save money by showing you how to make your own Hello Kitty merchandise for parties and DIY activities.
What You Need:
- White Latex Balloons (Helium Filled)
- Construction Paper – White, Pink, Yellow & Black

Instructions:

- Cut out a pink bow from pink paper or find a small pink bow online, print it and stick it on one of the ears
- Add a little glue to the ears, stick onto the balloon and hold for a few seconds
- Cut a few small circles from black paper for eyes and a nose
- Glue on some long strips of black paper to use as whiskers
- You only need to stick on one small round piece of yellow paper then for Hello Kitty’s nose and then you’re done
